Few questions – interview with death metal band from Sweden - ROTTEN BREATH.

Answered Simon Gleisner.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc.?

Alright, we are Rotten Breath. A six piece band that started in 2014 by Simon Gleisner on guitar, William Wilhelmsson on drums, Hampus Kjellman on guitar and Jonas Andersson on bass guitar. The band was and is still influenced by the Swedish death metal buzz-saw sound, but to be honest we really couldn't play that fast so we decided to play simpler riffs but with a groove to it haha. So it is up to the listener to decide what kind of genre we play, but we mostly refer to it as Death n' Roll. After we made some demos with a couple of singers we recruited Rasmus Johansson om vocals and Henrik Falk on second drums.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We recorded our album at Open Room studios in our hometown Karlskoga. We produced it ourselves. Michael Nowak did the mix and mastering.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We have only released the album on bandcamp and we're gonna release it on Spotify also. We haven’t got any fysical albums yet, but we're gonna try to release some and finance it by ourselves.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with ?

Simon is the author of the lyrics. Mostly based on horror movies and satanic themes.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

We’ve design the logo ourselves and a local tattoo artist named Daniel designed the albumcover. We handle all of our social networks ourselves and yes we do consider it important.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We aren't signed to any label at the moment.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Mostly Swedish death metal. Entombed, Dismember and Grave to name a few. But we listen to a lot of other musicgenres also. The inspiration we have is to get an sound that is familiar but with an different approach.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Yes we have, but it was quite recently so we haven't got any response yet. But the response from fans and friends have been positive.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

I honestly can't remember, it’s been many gigs since we started. We prefer smaller gigs where you get an better connection with the audiens, that is always harder on bigger events. But we'll play everywhere, to perform live is the whole reason I started playing music anyway.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

To continue play live and try to record an new album as fast as possible.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

On our facebookpage. That or through our bandcamp. http://rottenbreath.bandcamp.com

Thanx for the interview.

Thank you very much!
